Overview
The Getty Research Institute invited Amazonian/Brazilian artist Denilson Baniwa to create Reinventing the Américas: Construct. Erase. Repeat., a multimedia exhibition featuring video artworks, murals and colorful displays to challenge European representations of the Americas. The exhibition asked viewers to reexamine the old paradigm of European exceptionalism and the “exotic other."
